Alfred Birtz began his George Washington University academic career by first earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice.  He continued onward by earning the prestigious Homeland Security Emergency Preparedness and Response graduate certificate from G.W.U. and went on to further complete his Master of Science degree in Engineering Management, where the focused field of study was Crisis & Emergency Risk Management.

While working as a manager of logistical operations for a large private corporation, Mr. Birtz conducted preliminary investigative support for many Federal agencies—FBI, U.S. Secret Service, DHS, CIA, and DOJ—to name a few, in the full enforcement of laws under the District of Columbia’s purview.

In addition to providing security to foreign and domestic dignitaries while on-travel to Washington, D.C., Mr. Birtz has educated the staff of private firms on crime prevention and emergency preparedness strategies.  Working under a multi-jurisdictional emergency response framework, Mr. Birtz has also been fortunate enough to have operationally assisted the security planning for several National Special Security Events—including the 2009 Presidential Inauguration.
